Roof Sentiment

The Young Architects Program (YAP) is committed to offering emerging architectural talent the opportunity to design and present innovative projects, challenging each year’s winners to develop creative designs for a temporary, outdoor installation that provides shade, seating, and water at Contemporary museum around the world, including MoMA PS1 (NYC, USA), MAXXI (Rome, Italy), CONSTRUCTO(Santiago, Chile) The architects must also work within guidelines that address environmental issues, including sustainability and recycling. Lab D+H joined the team SoA and the Team proposes the wrinkle roof in this courtyard that works as a window to borrow scenery, a blind to protect against wind, wavy installation to awaken the people the roof sentiment. This roof is not covering the under space, but uncovering people’s feeling and sense. In order to evoke the sense of nature as well as to enrich the tactility of experience, the ground surface is covered with shredded pine tree bark with full of scent and the series of mounds planted with diverse plants palettes.
