Heiyu Island is a peninsula in the horse shape. In this project, we confront the challenge of restoring the ecological environment in the stage of sub-urbanization. Thus, our master plan is to envision the development of a collection of neighborhoods, each defined by the unique nature of its relationship to the land’s topography and the water of the lake in the semi-urban condition. We consider shaping the land to contextualize its material design and embed human aesthetic experience within the scene. The landscape strategy allows views from each side to enjoy the lakeside views and a framed view of the natural surroundings. The harmony of the environment and landscape represents the essence of the project. It manifests in the regional landscape characteristics into three aspects: the smooth driveway, the vertical movement of stratification/hills, and the interaction between water and land.
